Flow Yoga at U Fit Thrive in Leicester is a type of yoga that focuses on the connection between breath, movement, and the mind. It is based on the principles of hatha yoga, vinyasa yoga and ashtanga vinyasa. This style of yoga is often referred to as 'flow' because it moves from one pose to another in a continuous, smooth way.

About Flow Yoga

Flow Yoga, also known as Vinyasa Yoga, is a dynamic style of yoga that combines physical postures (asanas) with controlled breathing and fluid movement. This style emphasises transitioning smoothly from one pose to another using the breath. This creates a flowing sequence of movements, hence the name.

In Flow Yoga, the sequences can vary, and there is no fixed set of poses, allowing for a lot of creativity and variation between classes. The practice is often synchronised with breath, with movements and transitions timed to inhalations and exhalations. This focus on breath and movement helps to improve focus, balance, and mental clarity.

Emily Hartley

Emily has been teaching yoga and meditation for over seven years and has travelled regularly to Rishikesh, India to train and deepen her practice.

 

Complimenting her asana practice and teaching, she has explored mindfulness-based meditation practices, Tantra and Bhakti which she integrates into her teaching and life.

 

Emily's yoga classes are focused on mindful movement, with detailed attention to postural alignment and breath. By allowing your body to arrive at the posture that is right for you, the resulting practice is safe, comfortable and appropriately challenging. She aims for students to step off the mat feeling refreshed, energised and grounded.
